Nazarene Daycare
Choosing to place your child in daycare is hard enough. Choosing a daycare that will provide comfort, safety, stimulation and an opportunity for your child to learn and grow in an environment you can trust can be an especially difficult task. The Nazarene Daycare, open to everyone, is here to help make that task a little easier.
At the Church of the Nazarene Daycare we not only need to meet childcare regulations, we endeavor to exceed them. Currently, out of our core five caregivers and Daycare Director, all of them have the highest level in training (the requirement is for one). As for space, we have far exceeded the requirements for both indoor and outdoor play areas, including our own huge playground. Furthermore, we have a long track record, serving this community since 1980. You can expect us to be here for many years to come. And because we operate on a non-profit basis, we do not charge more than the current childcare subsidy limits with the exception of our Infant Program. We would be thrilled if you would not only look over the material on these pages but better yet come in and meet our Director and Caregivers, take a look around. We believe you will be pleased. If at any time you have unanswered questions or would just like to talk to somebody about the daycare, please call us at 867-633-5520 or send us an email through “Contact Us” below, or better yet, just drop in at 2111 Centennial Street (in Porter Creek), in Whitehorse.

Why Choose the Nazarene Daycare? There are many good reasons to choose the Church of the Nazarene Daycare, (including our excellent staff and programming) but what makes us really stand apart are the following:
OUR STAFF We have the most amazing line up of caregivers in Whitehorse! We have caregivers with experience, training, and a commitment to the care of your children. OUR VALUES The daycare operates on principles, values and standards that are the basis of a strong foundation in the early development of a child’s life; a foundation that will encourage children to make wise choices later in life as they grow and mature. As we believe many of the standards and principles that many parents value are taught and encouraged in the Bible, we don’t shy away from using the Bible (where appropriate) as a basis for our values nor do we hesitate to offer a simple prayer before meals. During our Thursday Children's Program (for Ages 3 and up) we offer lessons in building a strong moral foundation upon which we believe will help shape children into becoming solid citizens in the future. This is reinforced in our Thursday Children's Program held weekly between 3:45 - 4:30 pm for children ages 3 and up. OUR HISTORY The Nazarene Daycare has been serving in this same neighborhood for almost 40 years (since 1980)! What a great heritage we have. We have had many hundreds of children (perhaps well over a thousand) that have attended our daycare over the years! We have seen now more than 650 different children in the past 17 plus years alone! We have been here before and we will continue to be here when you need us. OUR SPACE We realize that kids need space and lots of it! That’s why we utilize so much of our building for the daycare. The fact is, we have approximately four times the space that is required (by government) for each child that is in the daycare—and that is just indoors! Our outdoor playground is nothing short of huge with three large play structures, a massive deck and lots and lots of room to run around and play in a safe environment. |
